January 19, 2013. Instapaper is a tool I use daily for reading articles from various news outlets and elsewhere on the internet. There have long been very nice apps for reading articles from Instapaper, Readability, or Pocket on your favorite mobile device. ReadKit is a full-featured read later and RSS client that supports services from Instapaper, Pocket, Pinboard, Feedly, Fever, NewsBlur, Feedbin and Feed Wrangler and has built-in RSS capabilities. MacStories: 'If you use Feed Wrangler and have been looking for a desktop client, ReadKit is your best option' Mac.AppStorm: 'The best reading. ReadKit is a full-featured read later and RSS client that supports services from Instapaper, Pocket, Readability, Pinboard, Delicious, Feedly, Fever, NewsBlur, Feedbin and Feed Wrangler and has. ReadKit is distributed throught Test Flight and App Center to its beta testers. When I invite a user (only with his or her approval) into the beta test program, I have to provide the user's name and email address to the beta service provider. Jul 28, 2013 ReadKit has a built-in RSS engine too. This is an offline reader without syncing abilities. Subscribe either to RSS or Atom feeds, create and manage folders and import your existing subscriptions via OPML. ReadKit supports services from Pinboard and Delicious. Browse and manage your Pinboard and Delicious bookmarks with ReadKit.

Reality Tea

Instapaper, Pocket and Readability have long helped us to deferreading longer articles and pieces published on the internet onpost-PC devices in a stripped down, convenient format.

While these software services are nice to have, there is one featuremissing: the ability to read on the Mac. Our software, ReadKit,connects to these services and lets you read on your Mac even whenyou’re offline.

Additionally, ReadKit allows you to add, delete, move, or archivearticles. It has several nice themes, with the ability to adjust thecontent width and line spacing (which can help increase readingspeed). It has useful Vim-inspired keyboard shortcuts that facilitatequick navigation (J and K), flagging(F), and archiving (A).

This is a fairly new app and, while the basic functionality works verywell, it is currently only one dollar cheaper than the very mature,well-designed, and feature-complete Reeder app (a Google Readerclient which has a very similar interface, but also very differentfunctionality). This makes one wonder whether it’s worth the price. However, if reading articles from Instapaper, Pocket, or Readabilityon your Mac, without visiting the respective websites, is somethingyou’ve ever once wished you could do, then ReadKit is a worthwhilepurchase.

A Starkit is a single file packaging of Tclscripts, platform specific compiled code and application data;designed to facilitate simple deployment of crossplatform applications. The name comes from STandAloneRuntime.

  • Starkits are interpreted using Tclkit (a single fileTcl/Tk interpreter) or ActiveTcl(the 'batteries included' Tcl/Tk distribution from ActiveState). You will need a version of Tclkit or ActiveTcl for each platformthat you want to run a Starkit on.
