Chrome Remote Desktop lets you connect computers for remote access. Once connected to a remote system, you can view the screen, type, move the mouse, or send a key combination, such as Ctrl-Alt-Del. Download the Microsoft Remote Desktop client from Google Play. Launch RD client from your list of apps. Add a Remote Desktop connection or remote resources. Remote Desktop connections let you connect directly to a Windows PC and remote resources to access apps and desktops published to you by an admin. Add a Remote Desktop connection. Click on the newly added Remote Desktop to start a session. Local storage redirection can be enabled at two stages. Follow the steps below if you have not yet set up the remote desktop connection. After selecting the Desktop option in the Connection Center in the Microsoft Remote Desktop Services application, you will be asked for the credentials.

Install Microsoft Remote Desktop on a Chromebook
Open the App Store on your Chromebook, and search for Microsoft Remote Desktop.
Install the latest version of Microsoft Remote Desktop.
Access the VM from your Chromebook using RDP
Open the RDP file that's downloaded on your computer with Microsoft Remote Desktop installed. It should start connecting to the VM.
When prompted, enter your password.
Select Continue if you receive the following warning.
You should see the desktop of the VM that you are connecting to.

Iv used ms rdp on an android phone before now in an extreme emergency. Wasquite difficult without using aphysical keyboard and mouse but managed to do what I needed to do. I wouldn’t want to use it for regular support but that moment when you desperately need to get on it was a life saver.
Chromebooks are like laptops so can’t see why you would have many issues. If your getting a cheap cheerful used model, check compatibility requirements within the play store before committing to the hardware as ms rdp in the apple store has minimum os requirements.
